Victoria Øverland Steinby

Victoria Steinland (she/her) works for Balansekunst, an association promoting equality and diversity in the arts and culture sector. Victoria holds a Master's in Sociology and has a decade of experience working for equality, diversity and justice. Her resumé includes work at the queer youth organization Skeiv Ungdom, and the association Likestillingssenteret (The Center for Equality). At Balansekunst, Victoria wants to make it easier for culture enterprises to put measures into place for equality and diversity. Balansekunst offer resources, guidance and workshops on topics such as representation, norms, privilege, bias, aiming to raise awareness about subtle but effective barriers making it harder for some to succeed in the sector. Working towards a more equal and diverse industry will give us all a broader array of perspectives and voices, and ultimately more music and experiences.
